Hey Ribbon Rockers!
I hope everyone is doing well, I am writing this post to give you an update as of January 2013! I cant believe it is already the beginning of a new year! Time sure does fly by!
My goal for Let’s rock the ribbons, is to provide information and spread awareness on selected causes each month.
If you haven’t noticed, the last group of causes that are posted on LRTR’s website is November.
Starting February 2013, everything will be back to normal; posting monthly causes and information, spreading awareness, and sharing inspirational stories!
I am excited to say, there are going to be new things launching as well! One of those new things is an Online store! Where you can purchase T shirts, tank tops, and even boy shorts for the ladies
.
I am also talking to a couple awesome individuals who make special items, who would like to make special things for others to purchase, so you can rock your cause!
More information about that will be available shortly!
With that being said, if you have any ideas/designs that you would like to see on a shirt/tank top/etc., to help spread awareness for a specific cause(or multiple causes) PLEASE contact me! I’d love to collaborate with you!
**You would receive full credit for your design,as well as be named an official sponsor/contributor of LRTR!**
Also, I’d like to mention, if anyone would like to join the LRTR team; making items to sell for donations, create blog posts- inspirational stories/ important news/updates, help with website content, help with social media (twitter, Facebook, and/or Instagram), and many other opportunities that are available… Please contact me as well! In order for LRTR to reach its full potential, I need a little help.
I apologize for not posting December and January’s causes and information. These past 2 months have not been easy for me, health wise. Things are looking better though, and I am ready to get LRTR back up and running!
If you would like to contact me in regards to anything I mentioned above, please email me at mmorheather@gmail.com. LRTR’s twitter is @urockyourcause! And our Facebook is Facebook.com/letsrocktheribbons … Please find us! And share what ribbon you rock! Remember! When you share, your making others aware!
Another important link is: http://www.gofundme.com/rockyourcause . That is a site for individuals to donate, so LRTR can receive our 501(c)3 status! This way, we can start to raise money for the major organizations that benefit the causes that affect you! As of now, LRTR is all informative.
Any amount is extremely helpful, every dollar counts! Even if you can’t contribute money… Spreading the word to others is just as meaningful, as well as helping in anyway you can.
Thank you so much for taking time and reading this update! I am really excited for LRTR’s future! I see many good things happening! And no worries, I will make sure to keep everyone updated!
I hope everyone has a fantastic week, and I look forward to hearing from you all!
And remember! Lets Rock the Ribbons! Where you rock your cause!
Sincerely,
Heather Lynn

I know I just made a post about the man that was otherwise known as @DaveonWheels, as I was writing that post, his Sister informed everyone that Dave passed away today at 5:33pm. He is now an Angel looking down, waiting for everyone to start smiling again,in his honor.
This is the last paragraph in his blog
“i learn in a short life that what make the world special are good people like
all you. otherwise it just be boring blue rock zipping around the sun looking
for trouble. you are all special. all of you unique! love each other and make
each other smile. a good joke is good medicine! make sure everyone around you
have a smile ok? always do what is right. always! but forgive yourself if you
forget sometimes
i have to go now. i love you all. i really do. you are
amazing. i will never forget you!”
Please click here to read the whole thing.
To everyone who was inspired and touched by DaveOnWheels, Continue to show your support and make sure you Rock the Green ribbon!
The Green Ribbon is CP’s awareness ribbon color. Spreading awareness is key!
To Dave’s Family and friends, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love,
Heather Lynn (HLynnOnWheels)

I want to share a story with everyone, about a guy who uses social media for a completely different reason than most, and loves every bit of it! He goes by @Daveonwheels and he has cerebral palsy. He is also deaf, he does not talk in person, so he uses social media to communicate and have a social life, which is awesome! He was recently featured on thechive.com, as they shared him story and the way he uses twitter. The Chivers share their support , and the Chivettes put a smile on his face
. ( You can find out what Chivers and Chivettes are by going to www.thechive.com )
Today, His sister Nichole posted an update on his blog about his status. Dave has pneumonia and is not doing well, and could use the support and encouragement! The blog with his current status, as well as an area for you to show support is available, by clicking here, it will also be featured in my blog roll.
Cerebral Palsy Awareness month is March! But, with all causes, there shouldnt be just one month dedicated to spreading awareness. It is something that should be done all year round! Please Click here for more information about Cerebral Palsy, you will get more of an idea of the severity of the situation that DaveOnWheels is in.
One of theCHIVE’s loyal fans, suggested that everyone should change their twitter names to (NameOnWheels) to support @DaveOnWheels! By now, im quite sure there are well over 50 people who have done so! My name is now HLynnOnWheels
. You should change yours too,if you havent already!
(This is @theCHIVE’s profile photo. I LOVE their site.. to check it out, click here!)
DaveOnWheels, you have the support and love by many, please know that you have a lot of people there for you. You are a fighter, you are strong, you can fight this! We will be there every step of the way! You have touched many hearts and are an inspiration. We can’t wait until your back on twitter doing your thing!
CP awareness ribbon is Green, we should pick a day next week and all wear green! Take photo’s and share them on twitter! What do you all think?
If you have a twitter account, please follow @DaveOnWheels and show your support. Also, his blog is a great place to show support as well, it also provides updates! Click here to go to his blog!
Thank you for taking your time to read this! Lets rock the ribbons is a place where you rock your cause!
Thank you,
HLynnOnWheels
PS: LRTR is in the process of trying to become a 501(c)3 status non-profit, as of now its all informative. Once we have the 501(c)3 status, we will be able to have events, fundraisers, etc to raise money for the major organizations that represent the featured causes of each month. If you would like to help, please go to www.gofundme.com/rockyourcause , every dollar counts! Even $1 means a lot!
